Engaging with the local community
23th October 2015
Our involvement and engagement manager, Danielle Yuill visited Vernon Primary School in Poynton on Friday 23rd October with research nurse, Sue Stockdale to engage with two Year 5 classes about the respiratory system and importance of lung health.
As part of the visit, Sue presented an engaging talk to the children, followed by an inspiring question and answer session whilst Danielle led a hands-on creative activity with over 40 children. ‘Fake lungs’ were made with students out of plastic bottles and balloons to visually display how the lungs work. The differences between healthy lungs and those affected by respiratory conditions were explained during the visit.
